About the Role

We’ve been hard at work - developing our people programs, shaping and defining our company culture and as we continue to scale, we’re looking for a People and Culture Coordinator to join our team and help us continue to improve our overall employee experiences!

What You’ll be Doing:

  • You will be our champion of employee experience and the first point of contact for our employees and new hires related to all things working at Encircle.
  • You will play an integral part in providing full life-cycle recruiting support from role definition to onboarding for all co-op and regular full time hiring requirements.  
  • Partner with leaders to establish hiring needs, develop role profiles and job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate relationship management and ultimately ensuring a positive experience for all candidates along the way. 
  • Develop partnerships with educational institutions and other local organizations in support of our hiring activities.
  • Conduct employee onboarding sessions and ensure completeness and follow up on any outstanding documents and training.
  • Perform a variety of HR tasks as assigned including but not limited to; supporting employee day to day needs and questions, maintaining updated and accurate employee records, facilitating leaves, transfers, increases and promotions.
  • Partner with leaders and the Director, People & Culture to develop and implement our annual employee engagement survey and support the resulting impact and action plans.
  • Support and foster collaboration and communication paths that engage our remote workforce, and support best practices for facilitating HR in a remote first environment
  • Provide input to the planning, content, and communication of company sponsored team building events, special celebrations, seasonal and wellness events, charitable and other social activities that align to our people and culture strategy. 
  • In collaboration with the Director, People & Culture, support the continued development of new and existing policy creation, change management initiatives and employee programs designed for a progressive and growing organization.
  • Assist with the planning and development of an annual recruitment calendar of events in support of our ongoing recruitment needs as well as an annual employee wellness calendar.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree program specializing in human resources or a related field.
  • 6+ months of HR experience OR co-op term OR experience gained in a service-oriented role as an assistant or coordinator.
  • A humble and approachable attitude 
  • Enthusiasm for all things “people” and a desire to use your talents to help the business grow and scale
  • A team player who thrives on building consensus and collaboration, you are often invited to participate in groups and committees and can be relied upon to get the job done.
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to establish and develop trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical, with a keen eye for detail; you’re everyone’s favourite proofreader.
  • Problem solving skills, resourceful, and capable of navigating through the gray space of ambiguous situations or tasks.
  • Results focused with the ability to apply a continuous improvement mindset to daily challenges.
  • Strong technical skills and a proven ability to adapt to new and changing technology
