What The Role Is:

We’re looking for a Director, People & Culture to join our growing team! As we scale, there’s lots of work to be done around continuing to create a sticky culture for our team today, and scaling the business for the future. If you are passionate about creating programs that support growth and development in a tech environment, this role is for you.

The role will be leading the HR function with an initial focus on recruitment and working with Encircle leaders on their engagement and growth strategies for the coming fiscal year. The role is one of both strategy and execution around people programs that position Encircle towards a competitive advantage when it comes to a great place to work.  There are many projects and programs in the planning phase and we need someone who is looking to implement “new” as well as roll up their sleeves and help administer existing people and culture programs. 

What you will be doing:

  • Building a strong and trusted rapport with employees and leaders to ensure an open, cooperative and trusting work environment, with the goal of reducing conflict and employee relations challenges
  • Create and implement new leader programs including training and development and mentoring 
  • Building and executing a remote-first work strategy 
  • Leading the recruitment and onboarding process for a virtual-first organization, expanding into new countries of employment
  • Leading regular compensation and benefits reviews, including gathering employee feedback on areas of priority 
  • Presenting people metrics and data to the executive leadership in a way that will drive decision making and change in the areas of most impact 
  • Researching, presenting and executing people strategies that support a strong EDI culture
  • Staying ahead of upcoming trends with regards to ways of working, and changing employment practices
  • Regular reviews and upgrades to people policies and programs as they relate to changing demands of COVID protocols, human rights and health and safety 


What you will bring to the role:

  • 10 years of leadership in an HR generalist role
  • CHRL Designation
  • Experience working in a Saas scale up environment
  • The ability to work both at a strategic/visionary and tactical level
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • High attention to detail 
  • Ability to use data and people metrics
  • Resourceful and adept at networking  

This role reports directly to the CEO.
